We’ve lived ITSM. So we built a better way to see it.

After decades of working in complex IT service environments, we knew there had to be a better way to understand what was really happening. PETE turns that experience into analytics designed specifically for ITSM - helping teams see more, understand faster and improve with confidence.

The story behind PETE.

PETE started with a frustration we knew all too well. After decades of working in complex IT service environments, we had seen enormous amounts of ITSM data being collected – but far too little of it being used to understand how services actually perform and where improvement really matters.

Petra, an economist and long-time ITSM practitioner, and Hendrik, a computer scientist, founded PETE to change that. The idea was simple: combine deep ITSM expertise with data analytics and turn what experienced practitioners know to look for into a scalable analytics engine.

Today, PETE helps organizations uncover wasted effort, weak process execution and hidden improvement potential in their own ITSM data. Built for ITSM and deployed in the customers’ environment, PETE puts powerful insights directly into the hands of the people who can turn them into action.

The PETE logo is more than just a symbol — it’s a mathematical code.

Each letter has a specific position in the alphabet: P (16), E (5), T (20), and E again (5). The sum is 46 — a number we’ve taken as a creative starting point. The sum of 4 and 6 results in 10. If you break this down again, you get 1 and 0 — the essence of binary code.

All angles and proportions in the logo are based on 46° and 46%. Our logo combines technology and mathematics in a unique way — a small but clever nod to the world of coding and algorithms that defines PETE.
